I really didn’t think this slim backpack would hold all my stuff, but as it turns out, there’s room to spare. It’s beautifully designed and feels good on your back –I hardly know I’m wearing it. One zippered pocket even contains a change purse for smaller things like I.D. and parking coins. That change purse is permanently attached to the backpack so there’s no possibility of losing it. This item is also well padded so there are no worries about breakage. And my little laptop slides right in and doesn’t shift when I walk. I can’t think of anything they could have done better, and it sure beats the enormous hiking backpack I was using.

I found this backpack really lightweigh and practical. Enough to carry your laptop in one pocket, the extras and papers in another and your ‘purse’ stuff in the external pocket. Very lightweigh and the weigh of the laptop doesnt bother me when I walk around, no matter how far. I agree that the straps could be better designed and the computer compartment would benefit from a bit extra padding.

This is a very useful product, but the back straps could be a little better in design, quality and function.

I have owned a Sumdex Nicole backpack for 4 years now. I use it every single day. This bag is deceptively spacious. It holds my laptop, files, keys, sunglasses, cellphone, extra power cord, umbrella… you name it. And aside from normal wear and tear, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the bag after 4 years of daily use, business travel, etc. The only downside is I own the older model which does not have the hand strap. The only reason I haven’t purchased the newer version with the strap is it is not available in the burnt-orange color named “copper red.”

I never liked backpacks, but I’ve learned that they are the best option for keeping my back happy. Most backpacks, however, are much too big & hit me in the small of my back. Also, they tend to cause my skirts to ride up – not exactly the impression I want to make as I walk through the door at work each morning.
My job requires lots of research, & I’m also returning to my Ph.D. dissertation research. My computer lives with me. This backpack is ideal for my needs.
It is quite small in comparison with all others I’ve owned. I like that there are three separate compartments. I’ll be flying to another state to do some research next week, and easy access to the computer will be helpful when I’m going through security at the airport. The size of the compartments isn’t very large. There is one for carrying “stuff,” papers or a small notebook, and the third for a small computer (I have a 13″ and it fits comfortably inside – in most backpacks and carriers, my computer swims around in its compartment). There isn’t endless room for carrying “stuff” around, but as someone who generally tries to take the kitchen sink with me, I see this as a benefit.
I would have liked more padding for the computer and for the shoulder area of the straps. If the pack were heavy, or if I were carrying the bag for a long time during the summer (when I wouldn’t have my winter coat to offer extra padding as I do now), I think the straps would be irritating & uncomfortable. I also think I’ll add a little more padding to the bottom of the bag, because I think it will be helpful.
All in all, though, I’m very happy to have this bag. It’s clean-looking, function-oriented, and small enough to make it a perfect bag for a petite person with a small laptop.
